Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Audio/Visual Technicians to join our team in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. This role involves the installation, setup, troubleshooting, and servicing of professional AV systems for commercial, retail, residential, and house of worship environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mounting flat-screen televisions, speakers, classroom and boardroom projectors, and other AV equipment. Higher-level technicians will also be responsible for system integration, team leadership, and AV control system programming.

Key Responsibilities:

General AV Installation & Setup

  • Install, mount, and secure flat-screen televisions, projectors, speakers, and AV control systems.
  • Run and terminate various low-voltage AV cables, including BNC, RCA, F, TNC, Phoenix, 3.5mm audio/solder, NL4, XLR, and 1/4" tip/ring/solder.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for AV system layouts.
  • Identify proper cable pathways and run wiring efficiently in commercial and residential spaces.
  • Set up speaker clusters and large projector screens.

Rack Assembly, Troubleshooting & Testing

  • Terminate, dress, and troubleshoot AV racks for large-scale systems.
  • Ensure all connections are properly secured and meet industry standards.
  • Test, calibrate, and fine-tune installed AV equipment for optimal performance.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues during the installation process.

Advanced AV System Integration

  • Install and configure control systems such as Extron, Crestron, AMX, and other AV automation platforms.
  • Dump and test pre-configured programming code for AV control systems.
  • Work with IT and electrical teams to integrate AV solutions into networked environments.

Leadership & Project Coordination

  • Oversee and direct teams of 3-6 technicians on small to mid-sized projects.
  • Work with project managers and clients to ensure installations meet design specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site, ensuring all work is completed on time and within scope.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical Skills

  • 2+ years of hands-on AV installation experience in commercial, retail, residential, or house of worship environments.
  • Proficiency in mounting and installing televisions, projectors, speakers, and AV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of AV cable types, termination methods, and signal flow.
  • Experience with control system integration (Extron, Crestron, AMX preferred).
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Certifications (Preferred but Not Required)

  • Extron, Crestron, or AMX certifications.
  • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Leadership experience for those overseeing small project teams.

Education & Experience

  • 2+ years of professional AV installation experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree in electronics, IT, or AV-related field is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work in various environments, including commercial buildings, retail stores, and residential properties.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs..
  • Comfortable working at heights (ladders, lifts, or scaffolding) and in tight spaces.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and occasional weekends.
