We Are Seeking Experienced Voice & Data Technicians in Austin

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Level I-III Voice and Data Technicians to join our team in Austin Texas. This is a high-end role for professionals with 2 to 10 years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, and telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidates will be skilled in installation, termination, and testing of copper and fiber optic systems and capable of leading large crews while managing multiple projects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Structured Cabling Installation & Termination:

• Identify, pull, label, dress, terminate, and test Cat 3, 5e, 6, and 6a cabling.
• Install and terminate workstation outlets (110 and Panduit).
• Install support structures (cable trays, J-hooks, conduit, etc.).

Closet and Backbone Infrastructure:

• Perform closet terminations using 110, 66 blocks, Bix, and Krone hardware.
• Conduct multi-pair terminations on both copper and fiber.
• Perform fiber optic splicing, termination, and high-level testing.

Testing & Troubleshooting:

• Conduct low-level and high-level cable testing and documentation.
• Identify and resolve cable path issues and other infrastructure problems.

Leadership & Project Management:

• Lead crews of 7-30 technicians as a foreman or lead technician.
• Manage multiple projects, including material logistics, staff assignments, and scheduling.
• Oversee project documentation, including Gantt charts, site surveys, and test reports.
• Ensure compliance with EIA/TIA & ANSI Standards.

Blueprints & Site Assessments:

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Perform site surveys and coordinate cable pathways.

Qualifications:

• 2-10 years of experience in structured cabling and fiber optics.
• Expertise in copper and fiber optic terminations and testing.
• Knowledge of EIA, TIA, and ANSI standards.
• Experience leading and managing teams in commercial and industrial environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project documentation, material management, and scheduling.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and documentation software (preferred).
• OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred).
• Ability to work in commercial, industrial, and construction settings.
